A Gnome for a gnome!

These are the words penciled in on my new Neal Purchase Jnr Quartet. This 5’6 1/2 x 20 x 2 7/16 piece of pure craftsmanship, felt nice from the moment i held it. I haven’t got the chance to ride it in some decent swell yet, but if it can go as good as what it has in bumpy mess then i am pumped to surf it when we get waves. Big Thanks to the big man Purcho! If you haven’t done yourself the favour as yet and got one then all I can say is GET ONE!.

YEW!

The Valkyries

This post punk/indie rock band from the Gold Coast played their debut gig last weekend @ the Great Northern in Byron Bay. We made the maiden voyage down to catch up with the boys for a few Coopers and to take a few pics. Let me just say, I was blown away by the individual and dynamic sound that these guy’s produced.. They are defiantly lad’s to keep an eye on….

Voxpop.

Next weekend coming, if you’re in and around Byron town make sure you check out the lads from Dead Beat Band @ the Great Northern on Saturday the 22nd. Also getting amongst it and kicking off the nights proceedings will be the Valkyries, their Post-punk/Indie-rock spans from influences such as Joy Division, Iggy Pop, The Cure, Interpol and Arctic Monkeys. This will defiantly be a night not to be missed so get along and support some local lads with their debut gig…. We will be! Yowza

On another note.. if you find yourself a sucker for the surfing culture like ourselves. Then the Byron Bay Surf Festival might just tantle your taste buds with a heap of Artists, Photographers, Film Makers, Shapers, Surfers, Boards and music to bliss out too! So get amongst it…

Geoff Fanning is a local surfer and photographer here on the Sunshine Coast and being the top bloke that he is, has taken the time to donate a few of his beautiful sunset shots for a breast cancer fundraising event. It will be held tomorrow arfternoon @ Noosa Heads SLSC so if your around the area pop down and show your support.

Cheers
